AMOC was founded in England in 1994, by John (Mother) Wilson, (Crazy) Dave Levett and (T.C) John George.
They decided to form a club for people with a common interest in American motorcycles, this included people who didn't necessarily own a Harley or Indian. Since the Club was formed over ninteen years ago, there have been quite a few changes. There are now two types of Membership, a Full Membership, which is for members who own and ride their own Harleys/American Iron And Associate Membership, which is for members who don't own a Harley/American Iron but still want to be part of the Club.
At present the club is run by a National Commitee, made up of AMOC Members.
The club is made up of individual chapters run by a President and a Vice President.
CHAPTERS Each chapter is responsible for its own activities which should include at least one charitable event annually.
Each chapter is encouraged to attend any local bike shows, preferably by arranging a club stand to show members bikes and to promote interest in the club and to increase chapter membership. Back up is provided for these shows in the form of display boards, banners and if necessary enclosed display area. It is also in the clubs interest for the other chapters to support any organised event.
A AGM is held yearly to elect Committee Members and a general get together for all members of AMOC. A meeting for AMOC officials, Presidents and Vice Presidents is held quarterly.
National Committee Members can only be elected if they have been a full club member for over five years
